2) The Holy Mushroom – Halloween release?

The release date is looking to be around Oct. 31^st, Halloween, or possibly the first week of November. The book is looking great, and is almost ready. Thanks to Greg for all of his hard work in making things happen.

3) Astrotheology & Shamanism 2^nd edition – delayed.

The second edition of A&S has been delayed in getting it prepared for publication by at least a month. It’s now looking like it will be November for its release. In the mean time, the discontinuation of the 1^st edition has also been delayed a month and will NOT go out of print until November. It was previously scheduled to go out of print this month.

4) Donations

Last month a few people contributed very generously to Gnostic Media to help us get through some tough times. To Tony (again), and Alise, thank you so much for your kindness and generosity. Rush’s book proves the history of entheogenic drugs in Judeo-Christian and Islamic religious history, and shows how John Allegro’s proposal in The Sacred Mushroom and the Cross was correct.

6) Interview with Dr. Martin Ball.

7) Reprinting of The Sacred Mushroom and the Cross by John Marco Allegro.

I just received word this morning as I was preparing this newsletter that the publisher thinks they’ll be ready to have the 2^nd edition of the Sacred Mushroom and the Cross available by Christmas, 2008! This is great news. The book has been out of print for 23 years.

8.) Interview with Prof. Carl Ruck not released.

In last month’s newsletter I stated that I would release the interview I did with Prof. Carl Ruck from Boston University and Richard Andrew Grove of www.8thestate.com. Unfortunately I had so much work and so many projects to do that I did not get this fished. I promise to release it this month!

9) The Pharmacratic Inquisition DVD on Amazon.com

10) Hemp4Fuel.com – still no volunteers.

I’ve still not done anything with this website. I did receive a couple replies and suggestions, but no one who wants to donate any time to this project and take over the web design, which is disappointing. Once again it’s been a very busy month at Gnostic Media. I have a lot of upcoming events, so check it out!

1) Live presentation at the Living Temple, Huntington Beach, CA, Oct. 25, 2008.
For those of you who missed the live presentation at the Pharaoh’s Den in Riverside on August 22 and would like a little more advanced notice so you can catch the next one, well wait no more. 2) Donations needed.
Gnostic Media survives mostly on donations. While we do make some money from book and DVD sales to help fill in the gaps, it is essential to our survival that we receive donations. If you have not donated recently, we ask that you please do so that we may continue to be focused on research instead of bills. Upcoming projects that we need donations for include: a) Research funding for the 3rd book – the subject is Sex and Fertility cults. b) a new computer is needed. After 5 years of heavy use, the current AMD 3200 machine is no longer able / capable of fulfilling our work needs and crashes daily. It needs to be replaced as soon as possible so that I may continue work on a new video project. c) a new video camera is needed. 3) Radio interview from KUCR.
Around the 15th of August I did the radio interview for KUCR, but it ended up being a studio recording and then broadcast later. 4) October print date for The Holy Mushroom:
My new book, The Holy Mushroom, as well as the second edition of Astrotheology & Shamanism are timed to be going to print in mid to late October. I’m still trying to pin down the exact dates, but there is so much going on in preparation that we’re still unsure of the official release date.

5) Astrotheology & Shamanism 2nd edition - renamed:
The second edition of Astrotheology & Shamanism, in addition to being completely revised and updated, has been renamed. The new title will be: Astrotheology & Shamanism: Christianity’s Pagan Roots. A Revolutionary Reinterpretation of the Evidence.

6) An interview with Professor Carl Ruck.
This month I plan on releasing part of an interview I did with Professor Carl Ruck from Boston University. This recording was made at his home in the Boston area in April of this year and contains a lot of great information. The topic: John Marco Allegro. Professor Ruck has decided to go public that he thinks Allegro’s research in The Sacred Mushroom and the Cross, is, for the most part, correct. Release date is to be announced.

7) Release date for Professor John Rush’s book, Failed God, delayed.
Professor Rush’s book which is highly supportive of Allegro’s ideas presented in The Sacred Mushroom and the Cross has been delayed a month and is now looking at October for release. Don’t miss this book!

De Farmacratische Inquisitie – Dutch version
While the Dutch version of the Pharmacratic Inquisition DVD was released a few weeks ago on Exposure Room, the HD version of the video has still not been released due to technical difficulties and computer problems. Gnostic Media August 2008 Newsletter

It’s been a busy month getting things ready for print and production, and this newsletter is 5 days late! It has been a major job to get two books ready for print almost at the same time. I thank everyone who donated their time and money to help move things along.

Things are moving forward with the books and other Gnostic Media projects.

1) The first edition of Astrotheology & Shamanism goes out of print this October. I will be autographing all of the final copies of this book that are purchased through the www.gnosticmedia.com website.

2) Astrotheology & Shamanism is still in the final stages of editing for the 2^nd edition. It’s been completely revamped and updated at every level. A huge thanks to Professor Carl Ruck at Boston University for taking his time to make sure everything in the 2^nd edition of this book is tight. Also thanks, once again, to Judith Anne Brown for her strong editorial expertise.

3) I’m considering renaming Astrotheology & Shamanism for the 2^nd edition. If you would like to submit your suggestions for a new name for it, please let me know at jan@gnosticmedia.com. You will be given credit if the name you suggest is chosen for publication.

5) I will be giving a radio interview on KUCR probably later this week or early next week. I have to get with Walter, the show host, to confirm a date, but have been so busy to do so.

8.) A Dutch subtitle version of The Pharmacratic Inquisition DVD is scheduled for released any day now to counter the Dutch Government’s recent banning of Psilocybe mushrooms. It will probably be released on Exposure Room, as well as Google Video. A special thanks to Ivar Verploegh for making this happen.

9) The art gallery is now back online on the Gnostic Media website. Thanks to all for your patience as the issues were corrected. I know many of your were waiting for it to come back online, because you sent me emails. Thanks for keeping on me to make sure it was fixed. 10) I’m still looking for a volunteer to help me maintain and keep updated my website http://www.hemp4fuel.com. I would like to have the latest news regarding alternative fuels and the fuel crisis posted several times weekly (or even daily) to the site. What is needed is a PHP or some database format that is easy to post the news to, while also looking professional. If you have a good idea how this can be accomplished, and want to contribute maybe 20 or 30 minutes a week to this project, please contact me at jan@gnosticmedia.com

11) Richard Andrew Grove of www.8thestate.com has suggested doing a documentary about Genie Brittingham-Erstad, aka She Who Remembers and the She Who Remembers Audio Archives and the SWR New Group at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/she-who-remembers/. The She Who Remembers Audio archives are still available through Gnostic Media and http://www.thehemperor.net/archives.html. Nothing definitive has been set, but I think a documentary about her is a wonderful idea. Thanks to all who support She Who Remembers and who keep the candle burning that she lit so many years ago. GnosticMedia.com is now under new ownership.

As of June 5, 2008, all of Gnostic Media, its videos, the Pharmacratic Inquisition DVD, as well as the book Astrotheology & Shamanism, are now the sole property of Jan Irvin. “Andrew Rutajit” no longer has any part in Gnostic Media or any of its ventures. The forum, etc, is still under full operation. Gnostic Media will continue to provide free access to all of its online videos, etc.

Upcoming projects and events include:

1) The Holy Mushroom - a new book by Jan Irvin proving the existence of mushrooms in Judeo-Christianity. This book has academic endorsements from Professor Neil Whitehead at the University of Wisconsin, Professor Carl A. P. Ruck at Boston University, and Professor John Rush at Sierra College. Other academic endorsements are forthcoming and will be announced as I receive them.

2) Astrotheology & Shamanism by Jan Irvin and Andrew Rutajit - 2nd edition. I am currently in the final stages of editing the 2nd edition for a FULL COLOR release in the next few months. The book has just gone through both professional editing by Judith Anne Brown (John Allegro’s daughter), as well as academic review by a well known professor of religion and classics; and is receiving corrections to the first edition. The professor who is doing the corrections for the book is to be announced at a later date.

3) The Pharmacratic Inquisition DVD - I am now down to the last 40 copies of this popular DVD! If you haven’t already ordered your copy, do so right away before I run out. They are moving fast. More DVDs will be ordered later this summer, but don’t delay your order, as you may have to wait to receive it if you don’t order now.

4) I have been invited by Jack Herer, the “Emperor of Hemp” and author of the Emperor Wears No Clothes, to do a weekly 3 hour TV show on hemp and entheogens in religion. The date for my introduction to the show has not yet been determined - but is ASAP, and will move forward as soon as I acquire the necessary equipment. 5) As of July 5, 2008, The Non-Tester’s List against drug testing http://www.nontesterslist.com  will close down. The website, started by Jan Irvin in March 1997 is a user / consumer guide to companies that do NOT drug test. I’ve been too busy for the last several years to maintain the website as it should be, and I’ve moved on to other things. RIP Non-Testers List. Thanks to the millions of visitors.

6) A new article and interview about Jan Irvin has just been released in the Slovenian press regarding astrotheology and entheogens in religion. The article, written in Slovenian, is now available at: http://www.mladina.si/tednik/200823/najvecja_kopija_v_zgodovini

7) I have been invited to peer review and endorse a new academic book, Failed God, 2008, by Professor John Rush, that proves the religious ties of Christianity to Egypt; and also proves John Allegro’s theory of the use of entheogens in Judeo-Christian-Islamic religious history. The book is scheduled for release on Sept. 1, 2008. Check your local bookstore or Amazon.com. I was informed yesterday that my name and book title (The Holy Mushroom) should appear at the top of the front cover!

8.) I will be a guest on KUCR radio, that’s the University of California Riverside, coming up in the next few weeks. A definitive date has yet to be determined.

9) I will be giving a presentation and lecture at the Pharaoh’s Den, also in Riverside, CA sometime in August. A definitive date has yet to be determined.
